Krystyn recently achieved her SHRM-CP designation through SHRM. We asked Krystyn to share her journey with us and the steps she took to reach this achievement:
Why did you decide to obtain your SHRM-CP and take the exam?
Mainly was encouraged my coworkers and to further my knowledge in HR
Did you participate in the CWSHRM prep course?
No, I participated in the Fox Valley SHRM prep course – I had a sports league conflict with the CWSHRM prep course
How did participating in a study group help you?
The best part about the study group was the sample questions we went through at the end. But most of the time we went over slides word for word which wasn’t helpful for my learning style. The best why I learned was the SHRM learning system.
What words of advice do you have for anyone else unsure about obtaining their certification?
Do it! It makes you more valuable to your current employer and potential future employers.
