CWSHRM Newsletter - June 2026
President's Report
Can you believe Wisconsin is already on the cusp of summer? As we trade spring rains for sunshine, longer days, and time spent outdoors, it also offers a great opportunity to reflect, recharge, and reconnect—both personally and professionally. In the ever-changing field of Human Resources, staying connected to one another and continuing to grow is more important than ever.
Your Central Wisconsin SHRM board and leadership team has been hard at work developing thoughtful, engaging ways to bring even more value to your membership. Our goal is to ensure you feel supported, informed, and inspired in your HR journey—no matter where you are in your career.
June Programming
We are excited to kick off the summer season with two strong opportunities to learn and connect:
- June 11 – HR Evolved: Unveiling Essential Competencies for Modern Success
Join us as we explore the evolving skillsets HR professionals need to thrive in today’s dynamic workplace. This session will provide valuable insights to help you stay ahead in your career and bring strategic value to your organization. - June 25 – Ruder Ware Forum (Members Only Event)
This exclusive event is reserved for Central Wisconsin SHRM members and offers a unique opportunity for in-depth discussion and connection – this quarter we are discussing FMLA. Seating is limited, and demand is high—if you register and later find you cannot attend, please notify us so we can extend the opportunity to someone on our waiting list.
Chapter Pulse Survey
We want to hear from you! Your voice helps shape the future of our chapter. Please take a few moments to complete our Chapter Pulse Survey so we can better understand your needs and interests related to programming, networking, and professional development opportunities. The deadline to complete the survey is June 20th, 2026.

Dual Membership Enhancement
We are excited to share that our chapter will soon be collaborating with SHRM on a new Dual Member Release program. This option will allow SHRM dual members (National + Local Chapter) to join and renew in a single, streamlined transaction. We understand that flexibility matters, so we will also provide instructions for those who prefer to continue separate transactions.
In addition, we will offer an alternative option to dual membership via our Chapter Partner tier. As a Chapter Partner, you will still enjoy full access to programming, networking events, and conference discounts. More details will be shared soon as we roll out these enhancements. More information can be found in this newsletter as well as the attached Member FAQ.
Volunteer Opening – Membership Director
We are still seeking a dedicated volunteer to fill our Membership Director (Current Members) position. This is a meaningful opportunity to help strengthen engagement within our chapter and directly impact the member experience. If you or someone you know may be interested, we encourage you to learn more and get involved. This person must hold a SHRM National membership during their term a requirement of our affiliate standards.
As we head into the summer months—filled with community events, travel, and well-earned time off—I encourage you to take a moment to think about colleagues, peers, or emerging professionals in your network who could benefit from being part of Central Wisconsin SHRM. Our chapter thrives when we grow together, and your invitation could open the door for someone to gain valuable resources, relationships, and support in the HR profession.
Thank you for your continued engagement and commitment to Central Wisconsin SHRM. Wishing you a safe, sunny, and energizing Wisconsin summer—we look forward to connecting with you soon!

CWSHRM Chapter News

We are thrilled to share some exciting news regarding the future of our chapter and the incredible benefits it will bring to each of you. After careful consideration and collaboration, we are transitioning to a dual membership relationship with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) effective August 17, 2026.
This strategic partnership is a significant step forward, designed to streamline your membership experience and unlock even greater value. Here's how this transition will benefit you:
- Simplified Membership: No more separate renewals! With dual membership, joining and renewing with our chapter will automatically include your SHRM national membership. This makes it easier than ever to maintain your connection to both our local HR community and the leading global HR organization.
(Don’t worry, there will be multiple pathways to continue to pay in separate transactions if needed. If Dual Membership doesn’t make sense to you right away, we will also offer a partnership pathway that allows you to continue engaging with the chapter!)
- Enhanced Programming Focus: This transition will allow our chapter leadership to dedicate even more time and resources to what matters most to you: delivering high-quality, relevant, and engaging programming. By simplifying administrative processes, we can sharpen our focus on bringing you cutting-edge insights, professional development opportunities, and invaluable networking events.
- Seamless Access to SHRM Resources: Your dual membership grants you immediate access to the vast array of SHRM national resources, including their comprehensive HR knowledge base, exclusive research, certification pathways, legal compliance tools, and a global network of HR professionals. This powerful combination of local and national resources will elevate your professional growth.
- Strengthening Our Partnership: This formal dual membership solidifies our already strong partnership with SHRM. It ensures that our chapter remains deeply integrated with the national HR landscape, allowing us to leverage SHRM's influence and resources to better serve your needs and advance the HR profession in our community.
We believe this transition will significantly enhance the value of your membership, making it easier to join, more rewarding to participate in, and ultimately, more impactful for your professional journey. We will be sharing more details about the specifics of this transition in the coming weeks, including information on how your current membership will transition. Frequent communication is important as we navigate through this journey together.
In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me or any board member with your questions. We are incredibly excited about this new partnership and look forward to continuing to serve as your premier resource for HR excellence within our community.
