Deputy Joshua Bigger & Detective Brandon Stroik, Marathon County Sheriff's Office
Presenter(s) Bio:
Joshua Bigger is currently serving as a Patrol Deputy with Marathon County Sheriff’s Office where he has worked since 2020. Prior to that, Joshua’s law enforcement career included several years with the Wausau Police Department as a Patrol Office and also 10 years with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Division of Community Corrections as a Probation & Parole Agent and Corrections Field Supervisor. Joshua earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science – Law Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He served in the United States Army from 2001 until 2010 as a Crytologic Linguist using Mandarin Chinese, Tagalog and Tausug in support of the Global War on Terrorism. In his current role as a Patrol Deputy, Joshua spends a majority of his time responding to emergencies of all types as well as other calls for service in the community. He also serves as a Field Training Officer, Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector, and on the Marathon County Bomb Squad.
Brandon Stroik is a Detective with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office and a member of active threat instructor cadre.
Program Description:
Presentation will address how individuals and organizations should respond in the event of an Active Shooter situation or other similar emergency. Training will include a PowerPoint presentation with a video followed by discussion and areas to consider as organizations prepare for successful outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will increase their awareness of violent intruder situations to include learning how to begin preparing themselves and their organizations.
