In today’s hyper-competitive labor market, finding the right talent might mean looking beyond state lines. But once you find them, how do you convince them that Greater Wausau is more than just a great place to work? —It’s a place to thrive!

CWSHRM, in partnership with the Greater Wausau Prosperity Partnership, invites HR leaders and executive recruiters to join us for The Greater Wausau Competitive Edge, an interactive forum designed to transform your talent acquisition strategy. This session is designed as a collaborative exchange rather than a traditional seminar. Together with community partners, including the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce and HOST Central Wisconsin, we will explore strategies for embedding the Greater Wausau experience into your organization’s Employee Value Proposition.---

    Interactive Session & Feedback Loop

This forum is built on the belief that the best insights come from the "boots on the ground." We have designed the following elements to gather your feedback and tackle real-world obstacles:

    1. The "Barriers to Entry" Discussion

Participants will engage in a "Barriers to Entry Discussion" to highlight the primary friction points employers face when recruiting from outside the state (e.g., spouse employment, housing availability, or perception gaps).

    · The Feedback Loop: Insights from this session will be distilled into a "Regional Talent Brief" to influence community asset mapping and future resource development.

    What You Will Learn

    · The "Live-Work-Play" Strategy: How to use community assets (top-tier schools, short commute times, and affordable housing) to win over out-of-state candidates.

    · Leveraging the Great Outdoors & Quality of Life Attributes: Strategies to incorporate Wisconsin’s 15,000+ lakes, trail systems, and diverse cultural amenities into your recruitment marketing.

    · Community Integration and On-boarding Strategies: Best practices for assisting local employers in recruiting and retaining top talent by helping candidates and new hires integrate into our local communities.
