    President's Report

As Wisconsin starts to tease us with those first hints of spring warmth—sunny afternoons, melting snowbanks, and the promise of patio weather—it feels like the perfect time to reconnect and recharge as a Central WI SHRM community.

Our next chapter meeting is coming up April 9, featuring 2026 Benefit Trends: Insights from The Alliance, M3 Insurance, and Employer Voices. This session promises practical insights and real‑world perspectives you can bring straight back to your organization. Registration will close April 1, but if you’re still hoping to attend, please reach out to [email protected] to inquire about any remaining availability.

Central WI SHRM is excited to return as an exhibitor at the Small Business Expo on Thursday, April 16! This event gives us a great opportunity to connect with local businesses and community members who are looking for professional development, resources, and meaningful networking opportunities right here in Central Wisconsin. We rely on the support of volunteers to help run our booth, and we would love to have you join us. If you can spare just one hour, please consider signing up to volunteer (more information below).

In addition, registration is now open for our annual HR & Labor Law Conference on May 14 at Cedar Creek Conference Center. We are excited to welcome an outstanding lineup of speakers, including Daniel Stewart, Allan Mallory, and Gloria Sinclair Miller, along with our trusted partner attorneys from Ruder Ware—Sara Ackermann, Sam Moheban, and Nicole Stangl. This conference is always a highlight of the year and a great opportunity to stay ahead of key legislative and compliance updates. Register online at Central Wisconsin SHRM - Meeting/Event Information.

We also want to share our appreciation for the response to our open Treasurer and Certification Director‑Elect positions. Thank you to everyone who applied and expressed interest in serving our chapter—your willingness to step up makes a real difference. If a leadership role feels like too big of a leap right now, but you’d still like to dip your toes into volunteering, we’d love to talk with you. Please contact [email protected] to connect with Carrie Reif about volunteer opportunities that match your interests and availability.

As we head into longer days and a new season, thank you for continuing to show up, engage, and support one another. Here’s to fresh ideas, meaningful connections, and hopefully a spring that sticks around this time—see you soon, Central WI SHRM!

    Jenna Resch, SHRM-SCP
