    President's Report

As spring finally finds its rhythm here in Wisconsin—fresh mornings, budding trees, and that welcome return of longer days—it mirrors the renewed energy I see across our Central Wisconsin HR community.

Some things to highlight this month:

    • Annual Spring Conference taking place on May 14th.
    • Welcome Billie Revie, our Certification Director-Elect!
    • Welcome Heather Zunker, our new Treasurer!
    • Thank you to Kim Bertyk (former Treasurer) and Jessica Hilgart (former Membership Director (Current Members) for your volunteerism!
    • Save the Date: The next Ruder Ware Forum will take place on June 25th
    • Interested in SHRM Certification Grants - Apply today through SHRM Foundation!

As we move toward summer, we remain focused on delivering relevant programming, meaningful connections, and professional support for HR at every level. Your participation is what makes CWSHRM strong, and I encourage you to keep attending events, sharing ideas, and welcoming new members into our community.

Thank you for all you do—not only for your organizations, but for the broader HR community here in Central Wisconsin. Enjoy the fresh air, the warming sunshine, and the sense of momentum that spring brings, and I look forward to connecting with many of you soon at our conference as we continue to grow together as an HR community across Wisconsin.

Board of Directors & Leadership Committee Announcements

Please join us in welcoming Billie Revie to the CWSHRM Leadership Committee as our incoming Certification Director for 2027. Billie will spend the remainder of the year working closely with Lisa Nowak to gain a comprehensive understanding of the role, including marketing SHRM certification, responding to member certification inquiries, and collaborating with Northcentral Technical College to support certification preparation courses.

Billie began her career with Midwest Communications, Inc. while attending the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, where she earned a degree in communication with a minor in business. She currently serves as the company’s Employee Relations and HR Manager.

In 2022, Billie earned her SHRM-CP certification and is deeply passionate about supporting fellow HR professionals in their certification and professional development journeys. “I was fortunate to have a mentor who supported my career goals, and I’m excited to pay that forward in my future role as Certification Director,” Billie shared.

Please join us in welcoming Billie to the CWSHRM leadership team.

CWSHRM is excited to announce Heather Zunker as our new Treasurer! In her role, Heather will partner with our current Treasurer, Kim Bertyk, to learn and support the financial operations of the chapter.

Heather holds a degree in communications along with a technical diploma and has a background in accounting. She has been aPHR certified since 2022 and will celebrate five years with Foundation Finance Company this summer, where she serves as an HR Operations Specialist.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys thrifting, attending concerts, and taking regular trips to Minocqua and Door County with her husband. She’s a big fan of all things Halloween—especially paranormal and ghost-hunting shows. Around the holidays, you’ll find her making homemade pierogi, and she never passes up the chance to create an impressive charcuterie board!

Please join us in welcoming Heather to the CWSHRM leadership team.

    Thank You for Your Service

As we continue to grow and evolve, it’s important to pause and recognize the people who have helped shape where we are today. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to two dedicated board members who are stepping away from their roles: our Treasurer and our Membership Director (Current Members).

Throughout their time on the board, both individuals have brought a strong sense of commitment, professionalism, and care to their work. Their contributions have supported not only the day-to-day operations of the organization, but also the long-term success and stability of our mission.

Our Treasurer has played a vital role in ensuring financial stewardship, transparency, and thoughtful decision-making. Their attention to detail and steady guidance have helped position the organization for continued strength and sustainability.

Our Membership Director has been instrumental in fostering connections and engagement among our members. Through their efforts, they have helped build a stronger, more connected community—ensuring that current members feel supported, informed, and valued.

Beyond their titles, both individuals have generously given their time, energy, and expertise. Their leadership has made a meaningful and lasting impact, and their presence will certainly be missed.

While we are sad to see them step away from the board, we are incredibly grateful for all they have contributed. Please join us in thanking them for their service and wishing them all the best in their next chapter.
